This was the big one....the first ever Village of Brookfield Jazz Festival! This event was held in Brookfield's Kiwanis Park. There were over six hours of great live jazz covering many different styles, including Swing, Dixieland, Contemporary and Latin. Unfortunately, due to a thunderstorm, the final three bands had to perform in the Village Hall, rather than in the park. Four superb bands made up the day's program: The John Burnett Swing Orchestra, The Chicago Mob Dixieland Jazz Band, The Andreas Kapsalis Trio, and Marshall Vente's Tropicale. The MC for the show was BJS President Ian Tiele, who also selected the bands. A huge crowd thoroughly enjoyed this event that was organized and paid for by Brookfield Village.
